Xevi language

The Xevi language (ゼビ語) is a language in the Xevious series created by Masanobu Endō to give more realism to the setting. However, it is rarely used in the games and is only seen in the ending of the MSX2 version of Xevious: Fardraut Saga.[1] In recent times, it makes an appearance in the UGSF and Ace Combat series. It is also described as "Ancient Pan Galactic Official Language (古代汎銀河公用語 【こだいはんぎんがこうようご】."

The name of the main ship and the enemies in the series are based on the Xevi language. For example, "Solvalou" means "sunbird" and "Garu" means "huge" in the Xevi language.

The Xevi language uses a hexadecimal-like pattern. The Xevi numbers are represented graphically by adding to a diagonal square, each of the line segments representing 0, 1, 2, 4, and 8.[citation needed]

By adding to them, they represent from 0 to 15:[citation needed]

  • The Xevi language appeared in the game Druaga Online: The Story of Aon as the language of Aon, including a dictionary of words on the game's official site.[2]
  • The Xevi language would appear on the canceled RTS game, New Space Order, as the staff discussed the three dialects of Xevi; Old Xevi, Middle Xevi, Modern Xevi. The Military Empire theme is sung in Xevi which can be downloaded on the New Space Order website.
    • In the Mechanics of the Flash novel, New Space Order: Link of Life, there are two pages regarding the Xevi Language, one of which discussed the official language of Ahous which is a blend of Xevi Language and Old Norse.
  • In Ace Combat Infinity, the Xevi language makes another appearance as the Official Ace Combat Twitter shows the Xevi letters as "LIE BELTA NAPROOSA BACURA" (Bacura is approaching <lit. Close Come Impossible Destruction>) as the first collaboration between Xevious and Ace Combat occurs with the appearance of the Bacura.
  • The mobile tank game, Shin-gun Destroy: Girls' Tank Battalion, takes place on the planet Olious which expands upon the Xevi language even further. The appearance of Alienne Mithgald and Maki Thornayto has brought about more transcription of the Xevi language into Latin script via their full names, allowing for a more understanding of the language. At the end of the first Shin-gun Novelize, the concept of the New Space Order was transcribed as "FAR DRAUT PITARMIL FOLSA REPCKE" (Fardraut Story Begins Again <lit. Six Cross Story Begin Again>).
  • In the gacha mobile game 404 Game Re:Set, made by a collaboration of SEGA and Yokotaro, the Xevi Language made its appearance as the game included a waifu-themed character of Xevious. On January 5, 2024, 404 Game Re:Set ended its service.[3]
