Xevious angene-2

Mini Andor Genesis is the second boss of Xevious Arrangement. They appear at the end of Area 8, and there are three of them that the player fights at the same time.

In Xevious Arrangement, the one on the right will move further down the screen, while the one on the left moves back up it. All three of them will then move down the screen until they're in the same horizontal position, back up to the top of the screen, and back down it again (the right and left ones will also move further down it than the second one). They also fire streams of Spario beams that home in on your current position, alongside Zakatos and Giddo Spario bullets appearing.

They also appear in Xevious 3D/G in stages 4 and 7, but as enemies, rather than bosses.

Trivia[]

  • When running a Namco Classic Collection Vol. 1 ROM on some emulators (such as older versions of MAME), the Mini Andor Genesis boss fight in Area 8 of Xevious Arrangement has several glitchy behaviors; they appear from seemingly thin air rather than flying in, and while their hitboxes move, their sprites stay at the top of the screen, and stay like that even when defeated, where they disappear after a while. This emulator-specific glitch can best be seen in action here.
    • Obviously, on an actual Namco Classic Collection Vol. 1 arcade board, and in the port seen in Xevious 3D/G+, this behavior doesn't happen. The intended behavior does occur when running a Namco Classic Collection Vol. 1 ROM in newer MAME versions.
